Hello world!

Hello world!

I am not a writer by any means, but I wanted to have something that was mine. To create, vent, explore, and just be who I am with or without judgement. I’m quite all right with agreeing to disagree : )

First off, my name is Sarah. I don’t need to explain to you what I love. Reading This Woman Needs, will tell you What This Woman Loves! I guess you can say my style is categorized as “Modern Minimalist.” I love animals and the outdoors. If I wasn’t such a modern minimalist, I would be a hairy hippy, camping in the great outdoors. But, I cannot do that either because I also fit into the “High Maintenance ,” “Non-Basic,” and “No-Nonsense” kinda gal corral (Which, crapping in the woods is pure nonsense). I’m very protective over my family and friends (the ones that deserve my Momma Bear services anyway). If you’re a sketchy backstabber, than you are on your own. Good luck with that.

Born and raised in the California Bay Area and so was my husband, Aaron. Actually, we lived our whole lives less than a mile apart before we started dating in 2008. I brought my shit-zhu Jack into the relationship and the day before we moved into our house, we were chosen by a wee little labradoodle, we would name Lola (I swear that dog is a reincarnated relative of ours the way she loves us).  That was March of 2009. Later that year in July, I was diagnosed with cervical cancer. I had a cold knife cone biopsy to see how far the margins were through my cervix. Results came back, margins CLEAR! All cancer was removed from my cervix with that one surgery. Praise God, it could have been much worse and I am one of the lucky ones 🙂 This prompted me to start seeing an oncologist every three months. My first visit, he informed me, that if I were in the position to get pregnant, I should certainly start trying, especially since I also have PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome) which can cause infertility issues. Boom! Done! The following month I was pregnant, but I didn’t find out until Sept. 16 when I ended up in the emergency room with a gnarly bloody nose and the most painful cramping I had ever experienced.EVER. Our beautiful baby girl Presley was born in May.

Two years later, we tried to get pregnant again and this time I had to go through fertility treatments for a year. One failed cycle and a large cyst with Clomid and six failed cycles with injectables. Finally, after taking a few months off, one finally stuck around in November of 2012, and our ten pounder Adellyn was born in August(Thank God Almighty for cesareans)!

IMG_0005     Before I got pregnant with Adellyn, I left the corporate world to raise our child after the good ‘ol carpal tunnel raised its ugly head and put me out on disability. What a flaming hot mess I am!IMG_1976

I also am a realtor 🙂 I love being in the real estate field, helping others find their dream home or fixer-upper and helping them sell their current home in the meantime. Sure beats sitting at a desk for eight hours a day. Making dreams come true…it’s what I do!

I have a pretty amazing group of girlfriends. Moms who attempt to exercise, raise tribes, and MAKE TIME for each other. IMG_6730

Two blondes, three brunettes, and not one set of brown eyes in between. What can I say? We love each other. I still have my besties from high school. Will update with a photo of those two when I have pictures of us together…not pregnant!

After all this typing, This Woman Needs a…ghostwriter or is it a ghost-typer? Either way, you know what I’m getting at.
