While browsing Pinterest late at night, when the rest of mi casa’s breathing organisms are sleeping, I came across a bullet journal pin that intrigued me. This is life changing! I can doodle and color while being productive at the same time! Boom! Mind blown! Could I trick my kids into thinking that I’m coloring with them, while I’m really planning out our lives?
But first, I needed supplies! Here is what I hooked myself up with (before the budget system came into play in my previous post):
This Journal is a dot page system and it is AMAZING! You can find it here!
Next I would need would be markers and/or pens. I went with Amazon’s best selling pens. But, I soon realized that these pens tend to bleed through the pages of my beautifully bound journal. This just wouldn’t suffice. I made it my mission to find a colorful array of pens or markers that wouldn’t ruin pages and use up unnecessary paper or smudge across my unicorn doodle with the horn pointing towards my “to-do list.”
I frequently visit my local Costco, and while I was there, I decided to take a gander in their office supply department. While putting everything in my cart, and than taking it back out again (I started hearing my husbands voice in my head), I came across these. Let me tell you, the key to clean lines and pages for that matter, is in the GEL!
If you’re not too great with sketching or doodling, there are tons of stencils on Amazon as well 🙂 But, I would incourage you to give it a whirl yourself before resorting to stencils. The goal is for this to be fun and not feel like a job.
What should you include in your journal? Anything and EVERYTHING! From meal planning, calendars, goal setting, resolutions, budget, Christmas list, workout plan/log, etc.
